The distribution models of grazing animals between two grassland resource points

چکیده
In this paper, by using theories of stochastic process and differential equation, the authors systematically studied the distribution of grazing animals between two resource points and established the dispersal model that describes the animals distribution. Its limiting distribution could describe not only the consequences of spatial pattern development for a long term, but also the processes of formation and development of animals spatial patterns by temporal variable t of stochastic process. This paper gave both the animals distribution in each circular ring with the same center, and the maximum domain of animals distribution. Based on these studies, the intrinsic mechanisms of spatial and temporal patterns of grazing animals were discussed. 2004 Published by Elsevier Inc.

Vegetation Dynamics in Relation to Grazing Management Practices in Semi-arid Grazing Lands of Makueni County, Kenya
Livestock grazing practices in rangelands are being recognized as management tool for environmental protection and increased livestock productivity. Continuous grazing has been largely reported to reduce pasture productivity and increase environmental degradation. Rotational grazing is an alternative to continuous grazing and is considered to reduce negative environmental effects and provide qu...
متن کاملUngulate preference for burned patches reveals strength of fire–grazing interaction
The interactions between fire and grazing are widespread throughout fire-dependent landscapes. The utilization of burned areas by grazing animals establishes the fire-grazing interaction, but the preference for recently burned areas relative to other influences (water, topography, etc.) is unknown. In this study, we determine the strength of the fire-grazing interaction by quantifying the influ...
متن کاملGrassland Management with Emphasis on Grazing Behaviour
Investigations into the behavioural responses by ruminants to differences in their grazing environment have led to improved understanding of the grazing process. This has proved useful in developing management strategies which are not only sympathetic to the animals’ natural behaviour, but can improve the level and efficiency of resource use. The components of grazing behaviour considered are a...
متن کاملThe effects of exclosure on plants in the semi-arid rangeland of North Khorasan province, Iran
Abstract Over the last fifty years, most of the semi-arid rangeland in Iran has been converted to cropland without an equivalent reduction in grazing animals. This shift has led to heavy grazing pressure on rangeland vegetation. The present study has been conducted in Sisab Research Station in the North Khorasan Province to evaluate effects of long-term grazing exclosures on biodiversity of ra...
متن کاملStudying the sffects of Grazing Capacity and Rangeland Conditions on Occurrence of Landslide in Subalpine Grassland (Case Study: Rangeland of Masoleh Watershed)
Subalpine rangeland as a rara avis ecosystem is very important because ofecological features. Consistency and resistance of this ecosystem is so frangible and itsnatural equilibrium is instable due to the effects of biotic and abiotic factors. The landslideas one of negative consequences in upland area is seen in Masoleh watershed (north ofIran). This study has investigated the roles of biotic ...
